Plastic lenses are lighter and more impact resistant than glass but, in contrast,
are less resistant to surface damage and must be protected against the effects
of scratching and abrasion.

scratch coating of organic optical surfaces.

Product family
PMC Isochem’s varnishes consist of low molecular weight polysiloxane dissolved in hydrophilic solvents. The coatings can be applied by a variety of techniques followed by a cure cycle at about 100°C for full cross-linking to form hard coating that will resist everyday abrasion.The area to be coated has to be clean and dry before coating and the application can be realized by the preferred methods : dip, spray, rotation or flow coating.
